What most people do not realize is that derivatives first have to be converted by the skin into active L-ascorbic acid before they can fully function. That conversion depends on several factors, including enzyme activity in the skin, skin condition, penetration, stability, concentration, and how efficiently an individual person’s skin is able to perform that conversion process.
In other words, the amount of active Vitamin C your skin actually receives can vary significantly.
That discovery completely changed the way I looked at Vitamin C skincare.
I wanted a formula using active L-ascorbic acid itself, freshly batched for maximum potency and immediately available to the skin without requiring conversion first.
